A Matter of Choice

Being the last turkey left on the turkey farm as November winds down, you really don’t have much of a choice in things. What’s worse, neither does the next person who shows up looking for their Thanksgiving bird! Choice also matters when it comes to your engineered equipment needs, and that’s where the Charles P. Crowley Company comes in. Representing the leading manufacturers, we’re able to offer you sound options and deliver the right products and solutions for your specific application.

We begin by slicing into what makes for reliable and high-quality hydraulically actuated diaphragm metering pumps and non-metallic gear pumps. Then we stir things up with a look at inducting and flash mixing gas and/or liquid chemicals with superior velocity gradient mixing intensity into open channels, basins, or tanks. Then it’s onto the plates, with the original developer of laser welded heat transfer surface and the largest supplier of inflated heat transfer surface.

In the spirit of the season, we also want to take this opportunity say that at CPC Co., we’re grateful for all of our customers, manufacturers, contractors, colleagues, and friends, and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

PulsaPro 7440 is coming very soon!

MUNICIPAL – ECLIPSE
Pulsafeeder Eclipse non-metallic gear pumps continue to displace both diaphragm and peristaltic pumps for metering chemicals in municipal applications. Eclipse rotary gear design eliminates pulsations found in conventional metering technology which means smaller piping can be used and there is no need for pulsation dampeners. The pumps can respond quickly and accurately in response to changes in process demand when coupled with an inverter duty motor and, the front pull-out design allows for service in just minutes without removal from the piping system. The fully non-metallic design makes it compatible with a variety of chemicals and it is the perfect choice when dosing sodium hypochlorite. Eclipse comes in sizes to meet a wide range of chemical metering demands.

  • Sealless mag drive design for maximum safety
  • Pulseless flow allows compact size
  • Front pull-out design for fast service

The Cutting Edge

THE MASTRRR COMPANY manufactures a variety of submersible high rate chemical induction flash mixers for the municipal water and wastewater industry. The Gas Mastrrr submersible series 32 and 32PT units are designed to induct and flash mix gas and or liquid chemicals with superior velocity gradient mixing intensity into open channels, basins, or tanks. Applications include coagulant flash mixing, de-chlorination, and disinfection for water, wastewater, or CSO basin applications. The series 32 and 32PT mixers can be configured for single or dual chemical feed from a single unit.

SERIES 32
Series 32 is designed for vacuum inducting and flash mixing Cl2, SO2 or NH3 chemical gas directly into the water or wastewater stream. The induction unit eliminates the need for a potable water supply, ejector, booster pump, diffuser, and mechanical mixer. The mixers are available in ranges from 1/2 – 25 HP for feed rates up to 10,000 PPD gas chemical per unit. The mixer utilizes a UHMW Polyethylene rotating distributor to create a high vacuum and disperses the chemical mix in a 360-degree radial discharge pattern.

  • 20% – 40% Cl2 and or SO2 chemical gas reduction possible over conventional ejector/diffuser method.
  • Eliminates dead zones and incomplete chemical dispersion
  • Eliminates the need for a potable water supply, ejector, booster pump, diffuser, and mechanical mixer.

SERIES 32PT
Series 32PT is designed for non-vacuum flash mixing of liquid chemicals such as NaOCl and NaHSO3 into open channels or basins. Units are available in ranges from 2 to 25 HP for feed rates of up to 60 GPM liquid chemical. The mixer utilizes an unobstructed rotating Hasteloy-C propeller to disperse the chemical mix in an axial discharge pattern. EFP-1 titanium external feed pipe assembly available for scaling or aggressive chemicals.

  •
  • 20% – 40% NaOCl and NaHSO3 chemical gas reduction possible over conventional ejector/diffuser method.
  • Eliminates dead zones and incomplete chemical dispersion
  • Easy to install with new or retrofit with existing chemical feed equipment

OMEGA THERMO PRODUCTS is both the original developer of laser welded heat transfer surface and the largest supplier of inflated heat transfer surface, producing over 1 million ft2 per year.  Since 1989, Omega Thermo Products has designed, manufactured and sold heat exchanger technology and process systems for many different industries worldwide. Omega’s heat exchangers are widely used in the food and beverage industry, process industry, chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, and heat recovery applications.

Omega Laser Plates have lower operating costs, lower installation cost compared to other heat transfer methods, superior heat transfer coefficients, improved control characteristics, even distribution of cooling and/or heating media and the design is not limited due to complex geometries.

CLAMP-ON LASER PLATES
Omega’s Clamp-on Laser Plates are used by mounting onto existing applications to provide heating or cooling of the product inside the existing vessel. Clamp-on plates are available in either single or double embossed construction, they can be flat or in the rolled orientation for use on tanks. Rather than cooling an entire room of tanks or investing in newly fabricated tanks with built-in heat exchangers, a more cost-effective solution can be obtained by installing Omega’s Tank Clamp-on Laser Plates.

IMMERSION LASER PLATES
Omega’s Immersion Heat Exchangers make it easy to cool or heat a numerous variety of liquids. The flexible design ensures that the plates are easy to clean and maintain. Immersion Heat Exchangers can be a single plate or an assembly of multiple Laser Plates that are banked together and immersed in a container with liquid. The medium in the plates can then cool or heat the liquid in the container. Omega Immersion Products can be utilized in either a continuous flow or a batch process.

BAYONET & SUCTION HEATERS
Bayonet heaters are an energy efficient, water saving alternative to steam sparging for heating process vessels. They are installed in the side entry of the tank. A mounting flange, which is provided, is bolted to the side of the tank for ease of insertion and removal. This allows for good natural convection circulation of the fluid being heated. These heaters are ideal for use in recirculating systems and other applications where automatically controlled temperatures are needed. The manufacturing process for suction heaters is essentially the same as bayonet heaters except for a four-sided sealed shroud that encloses the plates with an opening on the far end.
