Due to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles County, many of CPC’s customers, business partners and friends from around the country have reached out over the past week to express their concerns for our safety and our well-being.
Because of this, I’m compelled to write a short narrative for CPC’s January 2025 Charlie’s Chatter:
- Thanks. Please know how much all of us here at CPC appreciate your genuine concern for our welfare. We won’t soon forget your kindness and your thoughtfulness.
- Proximity. CPC’s office is located a little more than ten (10) miles from the Eaton Fire (near Pasadena), one of the two largest fires at present. This fire’s collateral effects of smoke, blackouts, and general unrest have been felt by all of us here.
- Safety. Thankfully, none of CPC’s employees have been directly affected by this tragic situation. Indirectly, however, almost everyone who works here knows someone who has experienced either a loss of home or has been forced to evacuate over this past week. This group, numbering over 100,000, includes several of CPC’s local customers and business associates.
- Time. While wildfires and other disasters in California are not new, the widespread losses from this situation are exceptional. It will undoubtedly take quite a long time to rebuild what has been lost here. In the meantime, patience will surely be needed.
- Others. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that the senses of devastation, loss and sadness which are being felt here at present are enormous.
CPC has served its southern California customers here for 93 years. Challenging times like these are tests for everyone, including businesses. CPC remains committed to serving its customers in its important role as a key supplier of equipment and services for critical infrastructure needs for the industrial, water and wastewater sectors.
Our top effort, as well as our heartfelt prayers, will now go to those who need it. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do in order to help you. CPC is here to help.
