Setting the table for what lies ahead, NFL training camps and the preseason underscore the value of process and preparation. We like to think of our recently concluded 2026 Crowley College much the same way. In two single-day events, approximately 400 participants representing more than 80 organizations took part in technical trainings conducted by CPC experts, and engaged with leading equipment manufacturers and industry partners, gaining knowledge and heightened understanding certain to pay off it the long run.
Summer Chatter kicks off recognizing the importance of preventing odor and corrosion, as well as mitigating the risk of toxic gas releases. For fans of innovative play design, there’s the pump that’s redefining chemical metering. Solid defense is also on display, in the form of fiberglass shelters ideal for water and wastewater applications.
Chatter’s all tee’d up …
Top Performer
The importance of clean air, free from odors, pollutants, and toxins, is sometimes underrated in the water and wastewater industry. PURAFIL is the single-source manufacturer for eliminating odors, protecting critical electronics from corrosion, and mitigating risks to human life in toxic gas releases.
Engineered Media
Purafil’s patented media formulations are manufactured using special chemicals that react with odorous gases and remove them from the air stream. Contaminant gases are chemically transformed into harmless solids that remain trapped inside the media. Known as chemisorption, this process converts odors and toxic fumes into harmless salts. Once the gases are removed from your environment, they cannot re-enter the air stream. Purafil’s dry-scrubbing media can be bulk-filled within their engineered equipment or provided in different forms to best fit your application.
Air Quality Assessment
Monitoring air quality is an essential part of your corrosion control program. Passive monitoring using Purafil’s Corrosion Classification Coupon (CCC) involves the installation of a one-time use copper and silver coupon that accumulates corrosion over a 30-day period. This easy to install and inexpensive process is measured to determine your environment’s specific air quality level.
Air Quality Monitoring
Purafil’s OnGuard® Smart (OGS) Monitor helps protect your equipment by measuring and transmitting the level of corrosion in your facility, allowing for action to be taken before problems develop. Purafil’s OGS can transmit real-time data to your SCADA system via a 4-20 mA output signal, and is accessible over ethernet. In addition, the Purafil OGS contains internal temperature, humidity, and room pressure sensors. accumulates corrosion over a 30-day period. This easy to install and inexpensive process is measured to determine your environment’s specific air quality level.
Cutting Edge
Combining precision performance, integrated intelligence, and radical simplicity, PULSAFEEDER‘s new Eclipse Pro™ redefines chemical metering by collapsing traditional system complexity into a single, high-performance solution, integrating the motor, controller and pump into a single IP66/NEMA 4X enclosure. Designed for the water and wastewater industry, it removes the need for external VFDs, bulky panels, and cumbersome baseplates.

Tried and True
SHELTER WORKS sets the standard in custom-engineered fiberglass enclosures, delivering innovative, reliable solutions designed to protect critical equipment in the harshest environments. When it comes to field equipment protection, Shelter Works has far and away established itself as the clear leader in durability and reliability.
Shelter Works fiberglass field equipment enclosures are the ideal solution for the water and wastewater industries. They are engineered to protect critical systems in any temperature and weather condition while being inherently resistant to damage from water, chemicals and UV rays.
Corrosion Resistant
The unique characteristics of Shelter Works’ fiberglass field equipment shelters make them naturally resistant to cracking, peeling, and dents, which are catalysts for rot and corrosion typical to metal and wood buildings. Standing up to pollution, humidity, chemicals, and water, makes them the ideal solution for water applications and locations prone to humidity and rain.
Fully Customizable
Every shelter is engineered to each application’s unique specifications. Shelter Works provides everything from small fiberglass equipment enclosures that house valves and measuring equipment or serve as fiberglass pump enclosures, to large buildings that accommodate complex field equipment and field staff.

The More You Know!
The Charles P. Crowley Company (CPC) convened its fifth Crowley College on July 21-22, 2026. This customer engagement-focused educational event was held at the Southern California Edison Energy Education Facility in Irwindale, CA. Participants were joined by CPC’s staff, CPC’s represented manufacturers, and a variety of associated CPC business partners from across the USA.
Approximately 400 registrants, representing over 80 southern California organizations, included several consulting engineering firms, municipal water and wastewater agencies, contractual plant operations companies, general and mechanical contractors, and industrial manufacturing firms.
Participants were provided with a wide variety of technical presentations, including:
- Various Pumping Technologies
- Chemical Feed System Design and Troubleshooting
- Variable Speed Drives
- Tanks, Mixing and Aeration Systems
- Instrumentation and Pump Controls
- Screening, Filtration and Associated Equipment
Crowley College also featured six (6) State of CA-approved Contact Hours, six (6) classes in a rotating format, a “tradeshow” style exhibit hall, twenty (20) prize raffles, a CPC “Swag Bag” full of fun giveaways, a tasty breakfast and BBQ lunch, and a popular Summer Ice Cream Social.
By all accounts, Crowley College 2026 was successful in providing its attendees with a superior educational experience, exposure to comprehensive product and process expertise, and the opportunity to establish (and renew) business relationships with CPC’s staff, CPC’s manufacturers, and with one another!
